The 'BLACK DEMON 4200': My Custom-Built Studio PC

So, when I had the old studio set up in Sunny Corner, Miramichi, my Acer Aspire PC crashed. Now, for all those who have little knowledge of the technology in a home recording studio, without my computer, the rest of my equipment was basically useless, at least in a 'studio' sense. Sure, I could still sit around and PLAY music, and write lyrics and dream up fancy guitar riffs and piano melodies and whatnot; but its not the same if the entire place isn't fully functional, as before.

So - being the perfectionist I am - when I sent my PC away to get fixed (a computer-genius guy I know was hired to do the job), I gave him: my crashed PC, a cardboard box full of PC hardware/software and a bucket full of various cords and cables, and a black super-mid tower case (a steel computer shell with nothing inside it)...and I told him "There you go, bud. Make me something beautiful."
Well, he did indeed do just that: and MORE. He made me something PHENOMINAL! At least, by my standards lol.

I got a sneak-peek at it the other day, but I won't be getting the PC back until about another 2 weeks or so at the most. He basically, in a nutshell, took all the guts out of my f**k'd up Acer and installed all that hardware into the giant new empty PC tower - not to mention added a SHITLOAD of new accessories and goodies too.
Here's what my new 'BLACK DEMON 4200' is all about!

The large new computer tower stands about 20" tall and roughly 8" wide. It's got tons of driver bays and physical space inside. With 3 separate internal hard drives [ a 500GB and two 80GB HDs ] and several different partitions in total, plus running 3 operating systems at will, that ALONE is f**kin' cool! To start up my PC and have the option of booting up in Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows XP and Linux, that is dooope.

The BLACK DEMON 4200 sports 3GB of RAM, the perfect amount of RAM for what I use the computer for: audio engineering/producing and graphic design.

Now, the front panel of the PC is all custom-made with a dremmel tool, so its got 6 USB ports in the front alone, as well as the pink and green 1/8" headphone and microphone inputs.
For a CD drive, I've got a regular CD burning drive by LG, and above that a BluRay disc player and DVD Burner drive. A SATA drive with SD/Mini, MS/PRO/Duo/PRO Duo, SmartMedia/xD, CompactFlash I/II/MD drive for digital cameras and other devices lies at the top of the box. Using up a couple USB ports in the back of the computer, I have also plugged in and (using adhesive tacky) stuck a portable SATA drive to the side of the PC for extra digital support, as well as 4 or 5 extra 4-port USB hubs, adding another possible 20+ USB inputs.

Takin' it back to the old school, I've got a 3 1/2" Floppy Disk Drive installed in the front panel, and a portable one plugged into a rear USB port also for dual floppy support.
For a wireless networking set up (WiFi, enabling mobile-internet use of an iPod Touch or iPhone, or laptops) I've had a Belkin Wireless G Desktop Card installed.
For home networking purposes, I also have at my disposal 3 separate routers: two D-Link routers and a Linksys Wireless router. I also have a pair of D-Link Wireless Adapters.
Extra storage: my 500GB external HD [Seagate], a 250GB external HD [CE] - and a number of flash drives: 16GB, 4GB [2], 2GB & 1GB - a total of
777GB of extra storage capacity.

For burning movies and CD's on the move, I've got my Sony external USB DVD burner, and for just listening to music or installing CD-ROMs, I've got my external Backpack CD-ROM drive, although rather large and bulky in comparison to the Sony DVD Burner.
For video broadcasting of my upcoming
Up On DNA internet podcast show, I've got all my studio recording equipment (for audio recording) and my two webcams for separate angles - the Logitech and my Creative L!ve webcam. I'm still reading up on what programs/broadcast-hosting websites I should use for optimum efficiency and functionality, because I want to deliver the ultimate video-podcast experience with Up On DNA - especially since I'm a newbie with the entire video-broadcasting-from-home concept.

Well, apart from all that, I don't believe there is much else to say about the custom-made
BLACK DEMON 4200. Have a creepy crawly Halloween, everyone! Pz-100.

Introduction: What 'UpOnDNA' Is All About

Welcome to Up On DNA, the blog created by DNA himself. The purpose of this web log is to keep all my fans up-to-date on what's happening musically in the world of DNA, from new material clips and a photo selection, to upcoming release and project information and show schedules! Also, as a producer and beatmaker, having this blog offers possible beat-seekers a quick, single-click-away method of checking out new beats and get the most out of current offers, deals and promotions! My fans have been rather good to me; it is time to return the favor! I now also am pursuing a career in audio engineering and sound production, etc etc, including music video production, web design, photography, journalism, promoting, sales & marketing, among many other interesting and necessary areas in furthering myself with my music career.

As I've said already, this blog will be great for letting everyone in on what's new and exciting with DNA's music in general. I am currently flirting with other genres of music, dipping (and diving, in some cases) into new untapped realms never before explored by my fellow hip-hop brethren, at least in these parts. From underground/mainstream hip-hop and rap, to pop, dance, electronica/trance and trip-hop, to heavy metal/hard rock and alternative stuff, even as far as reggae and soul/funk. But we'll get into all that as the blog goes on.

To all my listeners, readers and fans alike - I send my heartfelt appreciation out to ALL of you! I most certainly could NOT have gotten as far as I have without you, and without his fans, an artist is about as relevant as a pebble on the street. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

Once again - WELCOME TO UP ON DNA! Anyone who has anything relevant to add in the way of news or promotions, feel free to contact me at:

and I will be more than happy to check it out. Thank you! Peace...
